It’s hard for me to maintain a blog and not write four posts a week about Arrested Development. Seriously.
Bias aside, there’s no denying it’s one of the most innovative comedies to ever grace the small screen. (Sorry, can’t tame that bias.)
As many know, Arrested Development has a rocky timeline, from being canceled in its third season, to being beautifully resurrected on Netflix in 2013. Finally, we’re in an age where Arrested Development fans are heard, as creator Mitch Hurwitz and the wonderful people at Netflix are already planning a fifth season, and a movie.
If you’re a super fan like me, you’ll be happy to know that the complete Arrested Development soundtrack will be released on Tuesday, November 19th.
The show is full of subtleties, including a soundtrack of recurring background music and jingles. These tracks often add the perfect amount of emphasis and drama to this extremely dry comedy, and I’m sure it will be excellent. Besides, I’ve been dying for a ringtone version of “Getaway”, the faux-pop hit that played subtly throughout each episode of the newest season.
Not owning this gift of an album would be a huge mistake.
