Behind the Scenes: SNL spoofs Wes Anderson

A couple of weeks ago, Edward Norton hosted SNL. It was overall a forgettable episode, but hidden between the mediocre skits was quite a gem.

In case you missed it, Norton and the cast of SNL did a tremendous job spoofing director Wes Anderson, most famously known for his quirky, idiosyncratic style of directing.

The skit was a fake Wes Anderson movie trailer, promoting a fictional horror film, “The Midnight Coterie of Sinister Intruders.”

SNL director of photography Alex Buono wrote a lengthy piece about the hardwork and time that went into shooting the trailer, a skit that painted an Anderson movie to near-perfection.

Take a look a the trailer yourself, and enjoy the parodies of some of Anderson’s most famous works (many of which feature Norton himself.)

  1. Haha! This is fantastic! I’m not a huge Wes Anderson fan, pretty much for the reasons parodied in this fake trailer. That was spot on!

  2. I love this.

Wes Anderson is one of my favorites, but he is so easy to make fun of! SNL nailed this one right on the head.
